Day three on my hiking tour. Pompeii! This has always been on my bucket list, and it exceeded my expectations. Our tour guide was full of incredible history information.

Day two of my hiking tour started with cappuccino

Day two of my hiking tour started with cappuccino in Amalfi while watching donkeys help carry supplies to places cars can't go. We followed trails up the mountains, saw waterfalls and explored caves. It was incredible. After our hike we visited Ravello and explored the ancient city that has been around since the middle ages. The drive up was terrifying as we took tight twists and turns and clung to the side of the mountain with sheer drop offs only a few feet away. Tomorrow I'll be visiting Pompeii!

Hello from Italy!! Yesterday was a travel day and boy was it intense. My Amalfi Coast hiking tour has begun. Our hotel is waaaaay up in the mountains in Massa Lubrense, and each day we journey and explore a different part of the area. Day one we followed ancient paths on the hamlet of Casarlano and slowly made our way down to Sorrento. On the way we stopped for lunch at Farm La Sorgente where they grow lemons, oranges, olives, and grapes. They also have cows and we got to watch them make fresh mozzarella and learn the process of making olive oil. We also sampled Lemoncello a popular liquor in the area (it's amazing). Then we got to explore Sorrento.

Hello from Marseille!! I have arrived and it is beautiful here. My hotel is right on the water. In fact, the first picture was taken from my hotel room window! Took a walk around and snapped a few pictures. Stopped for dinner on the water. Patio dining is exquisite here. Tomorrow I'll be casting off for the Island of Frioul and visiting Chateaux D'If (for anyone who's read The Count of Monte Cristo, you'll remember the Chateaux D'If was where Dantes was wrongfully imprisoned for 14 yrs.) I can't wait!
